On ALogo - CDN Death Raceugust 1-3, 2009, over 1,100 elite racers from all over the world will gather in Grande Cache, Alberta, Canada to cheat death in one of the world’s toughest adventure races – The North Face Canadian Death Race.   In support of its long-standing partner and its effort to get closer to consumers, PrimaLoft® – Insulation Technology™ is co-sponsoring this extreme trail running event with The North Face.

Athletes entered into the race will run non-stop for 125km (75 miles) over rough, mountain trails, through pristine forests, over ragged, rocky, and sometimes wet or snow-covered, seemingly endless terrain.  They will journey over three different mountain summits gaining over 17,000 feet in elevation.  Additionally, the racers will cross over a major river by raft, and run part of this race in the dark.  To top it off, the race must be completed in 25 hours.

PrimaLoft® Western Territory Manager, Russ Angrignon, and his wife, Delena, will be competing in the event.  “This race is an amazing test of endurance that has cultivated a loyal following,” says Angrignon.  “The entire community comes out to watch and support, which is truly inspiring to all who participate. PrimaLoft is thrilled to have an opportunity to partner with The North Face for this intense competition.”

Race officials will wear PrimaLoft® insulated jackets manufactured by The North Face and embroidered with Canadian Death Race and PrimaLoft® logos.  The jackets will also be used for race prizes and auction items during the event.
